Artist's Comments

my cousin and his wife just held a party celebrating the baptism of their first child, a son. i'd been itching for a way to shoot a memorable portrait for them and while i was there, he mentioned a picture he'd seen somewhere, described it, and asked if i could somehow reproduce it using him and the new baby as models. on a whim, we went upstairs, and, with a little help from a little study-lamp and a black shirt as "flooring" (plus of course some post-processing afterwards) this is the result.

not your everyday father and son portrait, but i think it will be fondly looked upon in the years to come. ;)

"To say that a work of art is good, but incomprehensible to the majority of men, is the same as saying of some kind of food that it is very good, but that most people can't eat it."
